George Clooney on playing Fantastic Mr Fox
Stars of Fantastic Mr Fox, including George Clooney and Bill Murray, have walked the red carpet as the movie launched the London Film Festival.
But Meryl Streep, who voices Mrs Fox in the film version of Roald Dahl's book, stayed in the US because she has flu.
Clooney signed autographs for fans in Leicester Square, accompanied by his Italian girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis.
Earlier he was asked about his plans to settle down, and joked that he intended to "adopt Brad Pitt's kids".
'First book'
Wednesday's gala screening, also attended by actor David Morrissey, supermodel Cindy Crawford, presenter Jonathan Ross and film director Gurinder Chada, launched the 53rd London Film Festival.
Fantastic Mr Fox tells the tale of a fox who decides to go back to his old thieving ways with disastrous consequences.

Director Wes Anderson, 40, whose previous films include The Royal Tenenbaums and The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou, said: "This was actually the first book I ever personally owned, which was officially my property."
"It introduced me to Roald Dahl's books in general," he continued. "It made a big impression on me."
A modest Anderson said the voices of Clooney and Streep, among others, had been the real driving forces behind the film, which was made using stop-motion animation.
"One thing I learned during the course of the movie was how much the voices of these actors give to the animators to work with.
"You record the voices first and the animators spend all their time animating these puppets, but their inspirations come from these moments with these actors."

Clooney, 48, said he had doubts about who would watch the film.
"I'm not sure who's gonna see it - it's sort of made for grown-ups and it's also made for kids and you never know how that plays".
"Wes said, 'don't worry about it, let's just go make movie and have some fun' and I think that's a great way to approach making a film."
Throughout the press conference, Clooney was forced to bat away questions about his personal life.
Asked whether he thought the line of questioning was inspired by his decision to play characters "that need to find responsibility", the star replied: "Thank you for that question and I will now have to consider the other jobs. I was going to play Peter Pan."
He added: "I don't have an answer - obviously."
Biggest laughs
And asked if the relationship between Mr Fox and his son, Ash, in the film had made him feel "broody", Clooney turned to co-star Jason Schwartzman, 29, and joked: "Do you know, just having Jason here next to me, I feel like a father."
But it was Lost In Translation star Murray who raised the biggest laughs.
When Anderson was asked why the film's human characters were the only ones with British accents, Murray chipped in "because they're the bad guys".
And talking about a meeting with Roald Dahl's widow, Felicity, twice-divorced Murray said: "She's a wonderful, wonderful woman and if I was going to remarry I'd take a chance with her."
But former Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker - who voices one solitary line as a banjo-playing musician - was not to be outdone in the comedy stakes.
"That line, I put everything into it and I hope that when people see the film they'll be able to sense the preparation and the pain that went into doing it."
Eleven-year-old Sobahle Mkhabase has a lead roleBy Mpho LakajeBBC News, DurbanIt is an inspirational tale with a cast of untrained child actors from humble backgrounds. Comparisons with Slumdog Millionaire are inevitable, but the film Izulu Lami (My Secret Sky) is all about South Africa.
It is a story of resilience. It follows the lives of two young children who are orphaned when their mother dies of a mystery illness.
The children decide to leave their village in rural Kwa-Zulu Natal for Durban, where they plan to sell the only item of value left by their mother, a well-decorated African mat.
While she was alive their mother would make trips to the city to sell her handmade carpets. This was their only means of survival.
Knowing that they will be wealthy if they successfully put their mother's carpet on the market, they stop at nothing to make their dream come true.
They arrive in a buzzing Durban which presents adversities and forces them down the path of self-discovery.
The movie is performed by a cast of children with no previous acting experience.
"The fulfilling thing is that they are willing to learn," says director Madodo Ncayiyana.
"They don't have boundaries, they don't put stops like adults."
Izulu Lami was filmed in the city and humble rural villages of Kwa-Zulu Natal, where all the actors and the director come from.
'Unexpected' adulation
Although IsiZulu is the dominant language in the film, this did not stop it from wowing audiences in Japan and Spain - albeit with the aid of subtitles.

It launched officially at the annual Durban International Film Festival in July and goes on general release later this month.
South Africa's film industry has grown over the past 10 years, with some films receiving international acclaim.
Films such as Tsotsi, which won an Academy award in 2006 for Best International film, Yesterday which received the country's first Oscar nomination in 2005 and u-Carmen eKhayelitsha which received an award for Best film at the Berlin Film festival in 2005, are just some of the country's most well-received films.
Movie critics say the strength of this movie lies in the performances and innocence of the youngsters as well as its emotional storyline.
Eleven-year-old Sobahle Mkhabase who plays one of the lead roles says she is "surprised by the achievements of the movie".
"I really didn't expect all of this," she beams.
The creators say it was challenging for the children to portray scenes that they have never gone through in real life, such as a near rape situation.
"I'm proud of myself because I never thought I had such abilities. I thank God for the talents He has blessed me with," adds an eloquent Miss Mkhabase.
'Raw acting'
Another member of the cast, 13-year-old Sizwe Xaba, says he is "trying to find ways of dealing with my overnight fame".
"I realise that I am famous at an early age but I think I'll be able to handle it. I never knew I would reach this level but I'm happy to find myself here," he says.
Durban residents were treated to a premiere of the movie recently.
Even though many complained about Izulu Lami's slow start, the movie was received warmly.
"I quite enjoyed it. Raw cinematography, raw acting but great story and it taps into your emotions," explained one of the moviegoers at the film's premiere.
Another one described it as "intriguing".
The strides made by the local industry show that there is a growing interest in South African storytelling both locally and abroad.
Peter Andre and Katie Price have two children togetherKatie Price and Peter Andre are in talks for rival reality shows with ITV, which will follow them throughout their separation, according to reports.
The couple, who met on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, announced their split last month.
A spokeswoman for Andre said filming for his new show was already under way.
Audiences for the couple's joint ITV2 show grew by 68% when they announced their separation after three-and-a-half years of marriage.
Katie and Peter: Stateside, which followed the couple's move to the US, is still being shown on ITV2.
Andre attended the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards in Macau, China at the end of last week, where he was followed by a camera crew.
His spokeswoman Claire Powell said: "We're already filming the show, I've just followed Peter to Macau in China which was absolutely amazing.
"It did him the world of good, and it was so nice to see him smile again."
Price's spokeswoman, Diana Colbert, told the BBC: "Katie hasn't signed a new contract. It is all open to finalising."
A spokesman for ITV said he could not confirm either series. "We are talking to both of them about future plans," he added.
Fly-on-the-wall
The celebrity couple have two children together - Junior, three, and Princess Tiaamii, who is nearly two.
Price has another son, six-year-old Harvey, from a previous relationship with footballer Dwight Yorke.
The former glamour model, 30, and pop star, 36, have made several fly-on-the-wall TV shows since 2007.
Filming for the latest series finished only recently. In one episode, the pair were seen having a furious argument after Price claimed she was the main breadwinner in their marriage.
In the ensuing row, she said to Andre: "You're an old singer that no one knows about. I'm miserable with you."
Andre retaliated by telling the TV crew: "I'm so glad you filmed this, guys. When you show it back, you'll see what kind of a stupid, arrogant, miserable cow she is."
Yoko Ono was praised as a 'huge influence on modern music'John Lennon's widow Yoko Ono has received a lifetime achievement honour at the Mojo magazine awards in London, the first music prize of her career.
Ono, more used to flak from Beatles fans who thought her main achievement was to cause the band to split, thanked Mojo for their "courageous" decision.
With Lennon and on her own, she has made two dozen albums in 41 years.
"It's really great that I went on stage and people were very warm towards me, I didn't expect that," she said.
After picking up the accolade, she added: "For the longest time I never expected people to be so warm when I get on stage."
Asked what her late husband would have made of the award, Ono replied: "He would have said, 'I told you so, man.'
"He was the only person who was really believing and promoting my work. Without that I might have been pretty discouraged."
'Terrible press'
Ono, 76, received support from other musicians at the ceremony.
Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr said she deserved the award because she had "an awful lot of utterly terrible press that was completely uninformed and out of control for no reason".
"But also her records are pretty great," he said, "she didn't really need to be a Beatle wife.
"She was doing some pretty good stuff as it was, and I think she's fantastic."
The four members of Blur were back together before their looming live gigsMark Ronson, who has produced Amy Winehouse and Duran Duran, will perform as part of the Plastic Ono Band at the Meltdown festival in London on Sunday.
He said: "I'm a fan of hers. All those early Plastic Ono recordings are just incredible."
Mojo editor Phil Alexander, who hosted the event, praised Ono as "a huge influence on modern music".
He said: "She may have been married to one of the most famous men in the world, but she also helped change music as we know it in her own right.
"First, by introducing avant-garde sensibilities to her husband but, just as significantly, by continuing to push the boundaries of what was deemed the norm way after that."
Other acts honoured by Mojo included Fleet Foxes, who were named best live act, and Elbow, who won best song for One Day Like This.
Paul Weller beat both of those acts to the prize for best album.
The winners of five competitive categories were voted for by readers and another 14 honorary prizes were handed out.
Manic Street Preachers were presented with the maverick awardBlur, making their first public appearance together ahead of their forthcoming reunion gigs, collected the inspiration award.
The Manic Street Preachers won the maverick award and bassist Nicky Wire said it was an achievement to have spent 20 years signed to the same major label and still be regarded mavericks.
Johnny Marr said he was "very honoured" to receive the trophy for classic songwriter from former Suede guitarist and Duffy producer Bernard Butler.
Mott the Hoople entered the Mojo Hall of Fame, Joy Division won the vision award and the Pretty Things picked up the hero award. Phil Lynott, the late lead singer of 1970s rock gods Thin Lizzy, won the icon award.
Island Records founder Chris Blackwell was decorated with the Mojo Medal, rock 'n' roll pioneer Joe Brown was recognised for his outstanding contribution to music and The Zombies received the classic album award.
A new science show, which will draw inevitable comparisons to Tomorrow's World, is due to start next month on BBC One.
Bang Goes The Theory will explore the science that affects our everyday lives, and the BBC hopes it will engage the whole family.
Dallas Campbell, Jem Stansfield and Dr Yan Wong will front the 10-part series along with former Top Of The Pops host Liz Bonnin, who explains why this role is her dream job.
Liz Bonnin has a degree in bio-chemistryFor some, science was a boring subject at school, what would you say to that?
I think the fact that there are people who shy away from science is a shame.
Some people have more of a liking to it than others, but the thing about is we all under estimate how big a role science has to play in the world around us.
But I think that is our job on the show - to communicate that. I think there will be some things that you'll be surprised about, at how things work.
We will cover everything from the science of smell to why cows burp more than they fart.
Tell us a bit more about the show.
It's a new science magazine show that's going to go out at 1930 BST (1830GMT) on BBC One starting in July.
It's basically looking at the science that makes the world go round and how technology does the amazing things it does.
It's four presenters getting quite hands on with the subjects and hopefully making people more interested with the science around us.
Being a science show, it will inevitably be compared to Tomorrow's World, but how does it differ?
It's a more contemporary take on science, because science has changed since the days of Tomorrow's World.
The way we look at science and the way we want to learn about science is different as well, so I think it's a much more hands on approach.
The presenters are trying to push the boundaries. It's a very different style, but it's still a magazine science show that's bringing science to the families.
We want kids and their parents and their grandparents to watch this.
What sort of things will you be covering?
I am about to go in a rescue submarine in Norway, a state-of-the-art tiny submarine, to find out how it works and why it doesn't collapse under an incredible amount of pressure.
Jem is building incredible things like a water-powered jetpack that will get him flying into the air.
Dallas has been down deep into mines, to find out what dark matter is all about.
We've also brain scanned the boys in a functional brain-scanning MRI scanner to see what parts of their brains work better than others. It's really good, they get very competitive, it's very funny.
What makes you the perfect presenter for this show?
I have a degree in bio-chemistry and I have just completed a masters degree in wild animal biology and conservation.
It's good for this because I can mix up my background, but really we've all been thrown into the deep end looking at all aspects of science and how it works, so we're not sticking to our area of expertise.
It's my dream job. I'm now combining presenting, which is what I love, with my passion which happens to be science, so yes I have to pinch myself.
Liz Bonnin was talking to Fiona Pryor
I?m five years old
It?s getting cold
I?ve got
A big coat on
I hear your laugh
And look up smiling at you
And run and run
At the pumpkin patch
The tractor riding on
The sky is gold
I hug your legs and fall asleep
The whole way home
I don?t know why all the trees change in the fall
I know that you?re not scared of anything at all
Don?t know if Snow White?s house is near or far away
But I know that I had the best day
With you today
I?m thirteen now
And don?t know how my friends
Could be so mean
I come home crying and
You hold me tight
And grab the keys
And you drive and drive
Until we?ve found a town
Far enough away
And we talk and window-shop
Until I?ve forgotten all their names
I don?t know who I?m gonna talk to
Now at school
I know I?m laughing on the car ride home with you
Don?t know how long it?s gonna take to feel okay
But I know I had the best day
With you today
I have an excellent father
His strength is making me stronger
God smiles on my little brother
Inside and out
He?s better than I am.
I grew up in a pretty house
And I had space to run
And I had the best days with you
There is a video
I found from back when I was three
You set up a paint set in the kitchen
And you?re talking to me
It?s the age of princesses and pirate ships
And the seven dwarves
Daddy?s smart
And you?re the prettiest lady in the whole wide world
Now I know why all the trees change in the fall
I know you were on my side
Even when I was wrong
And I love you for giving me your eyes
Staying back and watching me shine
And I didn?t know if you knew
So I?m taking this chance to say
That I had the best day
With you today
----
Tengo 5 a?os y esta refrescando
tengo mi abrigo puesto
te escucho reir y te miro sonriendo
corro y corro
revise la calabaza y pase el tractor
mira ahora, el cielo esta dorado
abrazo tus piernas y me duermo
camino a casa
llego a casa llorando y me abrazas fuerte
y me hablas
quedandote atras y mirandome brillas
no sabia si lo sabias
asi que aprovecho esta oportunidad para decir
tuve el mejor dia
contigo, hoy :)
